They changed the date and I almost missed it! The RVSPCA Best in Show has always been in February so I thought I had a lot of time to enter but it turns out they changed the date and the Best In Show Fundraiser will be November 20th at the Taubman Museum in Roanoke. This time I decided to paint Lucy, a beautiful 5 year old black lab that I follow on Instagram. It’s quite hard to photograph black dogs – I know because I have one – but Lucy’s owner has captured some beautiful photographs of her and she graciously allowed me to use her image as a reference for my painting.
